Recognition of Prior Learning - RPL
Update, obtain or complete your qualifications now based on your existing skills and knowledge.
AIFA has developed a streamlined approach to obtaining Nationally Recognised qualifications based on your current skills and experience.Having Nationally Recognised Training Qualifications gives you the edge when applying for new roles or a promotion.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an alternate assessment process that you may undertake through a structured classroom, workplace, or web based training program. If you wish to undertake RPL assessment you need to review the course outline provided for a qualification and consider how you may be able to demonstrate your skills and knowledge for the relevant units of competency described in the course outline.
When you apply for RPL for a number of units or a whole qualification we will ask you to provide us with evidence commencing with a detailed Resume describing the relevant work you have done over a number of years. You will also be asked to provide us with evidence you may have available from your workplace; we will ask you to provide us with referees who can support your claims of evidence.
Please be aware that RPL is an assessment process. If you are unable to support your application for RPL with acceptable evidence our assessor will not be able to approve your claim for RPL. If your RPL application is unsuccessful for any unit of competency we will give you access to our WebDL learning material and assessment tasks to allow you to undertake study and further assessment for such units.
Our Course Fees are outlined below. If you do not wish to proceed to any required further training after an assessment you will receive a partial Course Fee refund. The Course Fee includes a non-refundable assessment element of $600.
- Call 1300 785 775 or email us at enrolments@aifa.edu.au for enrolment information
- Submit your enrolment form for the selected course or units.
- We will send you our Course Fee invoice and our RPL kit with instructions.
- When you have paid your Course Fee and returned your self assessment and any requested evidence documents, we will arrange for a conference call to discuss your submission.
- We may ask you to submit further evidence of your skills and knowledge.
- We may contact your referees.
- When the process has been completed you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units for which you have been granted recognition. If you are granted recognition for a sufficient number of units you will be issued with the relevant qualification, i.e. a Certificate IV or a Diploma as may apply.
