FNS 60204 Advanced Diploma of Accounting

Suitable for candidates who:

  • are already working in the industry in areas such as financial accounting, company accounting, management accounting, internal control, taxation law and computer accounting and are seeking professional identification.

This course will equip you with:

  • the knowledge to prepare financial reports, operational budgets and income tax returns;
  • competencies in managing budgets and forecasts and administering accounts payable;
  • the capability to establish and maintain accounting information systems and implement internal accounting control procedures;
  • the skills to monitor corporate governance activities;
  • eligibility to apply for associate membership of the National Institute of Accountants.

Career Pathways

The course prepares you for work such as:

  • financial analysis,
  • financial accounting officer,
  • corporation law assistant,
  • costing projects manager.

Study Pathways:

Upon completion of your Advanced Diploma of Accounting you may apply to universities to study a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business, or similar course.

COURSE DELIVERY AND DURATION

AIFA ensures you can complete your qualification in the shortest possible timeframe;

  • Our 4-Term year and intensive training methods allow qualification completion in half the time compared other training institutions (such as TAFE and others).
  • Also, we recognise the skills and knowledge you have gained through your work experience and/ or previous studies. Where appropriate, we give you credits towards your qualification. Those who have extensive experience in their field can complete the entire qualification by assessment through our Assessment Centre.

Classroom Part-time:

Completed Certificate IV in Financial Services - Accounting or Bookkeeping plus:

  • Class attending 8 hours per week for 6 Terms of 11 weeks; and
  • Private study approximately 8-12 hours per week.

Classroom Full-time:

Completed Certificate IV in Financial Services - Accounting or Bookkeeping plus:

  • Class attending 16 hours per week for 3 Terms of 11 weeks; and
  • Private study approximately 16-20 hours per week.

Distance Education

  • Submit assessments at your own pace; complete qualification within 12 to 24 months.

Recognition of Previous Study and Experience at our Assessment Centre

  • CREDIT TRANSFER: If you have previously completed relevant competency units at any RTO, AIFA will give you credit transfers towards your qualification. Please indicate on your enrollment form your request for RPL – Credit Transfer. Credit Transfer will reduce the time required to complete a qualification.
  • CURRENT COMPETENCY AND EXPERIENCE: AIFA has established an Assessment Centre to allow assessment of candidates with relevant work experience and competencies. Candidates can complete the entire qualification by assessment through our Assessment Centre.
