


FNS40207 Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping):
Suitable for candidates who
- wish to pursue a career as employed or contract bookkeeper, or
- are already working in the industry and wish to obtain the qualification to broaden their knowledge, career prospects and gain industry recognition, or wish to improve their chances to articulate to degree programs.
This course will equip you with:
- comprehensive bookkeeping skills using MYOB;
- ability to undertake bookkeeping tasks, such as payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable processing, maintenance of general ledge, preparation of financial reports;
- qualification will allow registration as a registered BAS Service Provider with prerequisite supervised experience (subject to passing of enabling legislation by Federal Parliament)
Career Pathways
The course prepares you for work such as:
- employed bookkeeper
- professional contract bookkeeper, either working under the direction of a Tax Agent/Public Accountant, for a bookkeeping business, or franchise
- running your own bookkeeping business.

Study Pathways
As a graduate of this course you will be granted full credit towards the Diploma of Accounting, and the Advanced Diploma of Accounting.
Course delivery and duration
AIFA ensures you can complete your qualification in the shortest possible timeframe;
- Our 4-Term year and intensive training methods allow qualification completion in half the time compared other training institutions (such as TAFE and others).
- Also, we recognise the skills and knowledge you have gained through your work experience and/ or previous studies. Where appropriate, we give you credits towards your qualification. Those who have extensive experience in their field can complete the entire qualification by assessment through our Assessment Centre.
Classroom Part-time:
Complete in 2 Terms of 11 weeks
- Classroom attendance 8 hours per week
- Private study approximately 8 hours per week
Classrooom Full-time:
Complete in 7 weeks
- Classroom attendance 32 hours per week
- Private study approximately 16 hours per week
Classes can be attended at night and/or on Saturdays, with limited mid-week day-time classes.
Distance Education
- Submit assessments at your own pace; complete qualification within 12 months.
